Why This Matters Now

The mandate grew. Most teams' formal training didn't.

Across NGOs, government programmes, donor agencies and universities, the same gap keeps showing up: people are running certified-grade projects without certified-grade training behind them. That gap surfaces at the worst possible moment — in a donor audit that flags weak evidence trails, in a board meeting where results can't be traced back to spend, or in a promotion or tender that quietly goes to someone who holds the credential you don't. Left unaddressed, it isn't just one missed opportunity — it's the credibility your next role, renewal, or funding round depends on.

Training Programmes

We have six key programmes that might interest your team.

Each is built to the current standard, and we can tailor-make delivery to your organisation. Available for individual enrolment or institutional seat licences.

How we teach

One curriculum, four points of view.

No programme at IGPMS is written by a single instructor. Every course is built through our Team of Experts model.

DA

Delivery Architect

Grounds every module in real project execution, not theory.

AC

Agile Coach

Builds in adaptive and hybrid delivery for real-world variance.

CC

Commercial Counsel

Adds the contracting and governance lens boards expect.

FC

Financial Controller

Applies the budget and reporting rigour donors actually audit.

Why We're Different

Frameworks you won't find anywhere else.

Most training providers run the same imported slide deck everyone else does. Ours is built on our own frameworks — MEARL, C.R.A.F.T., the Five-Link Value Chain — developed from real African development projects, not adapted from an American textbook.

MEARL

Measuring What Matters

Our connected Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research & Learning methodology — the basis of the MEARL Executive Programme and its companion textbook.

C.R.A.F.T.

Prompt Engineering Framework

Context, Role, Action, Format, Tone & Constraints — the standard IGPMS teaches for producing reliable, professional-grade AI output, core to AIPM-301.

Value Chain

Five-Link Value Chain

Our model for tracing how project activity converts into institutional and community value — applied across programme design and MEARL consultancy.

Delivery Model

Team of Experts

Every curriculum reviewed through four professional lenses — Delivery Architect, Agile Coach, Commercial Counsel, Financial Controller — before it reaches a learner.

Consultancy Services · For organisations

Consultancy for the organisations your professionals work in.

Training builds the certified skills your people carry with them. Consultancy builds or repairs the systems your organisation runs on. Most institutional clients start with one and add the other once the gap is clear.

About Us

Who we are, and how we deliver.

From the Founder

I still think about the project officer I watched standing outside a boardroom in Nairobi. Two years of solid work behind her — real results, a community that trusted her — but when the donor panel asked for her evidence trail, she had nothing organised to hand them. She lost the renewal. Not because the work had failed. Because nobody had ever taught her how to prove it had succeeded.

That is the gap I built IGPMS to close, and I built it stubbornly. I refused to run a training shop that hands out certificates people can't actually use under pressure — in an audit, a board meeting, a tender review. So every curriculum here passes through four people before it reaches a learner: a delivery architect, an agile coach, a commercial counsel, a financial controller. One person's opinion was never going to be enough for what our learners carry. And rather than import someone else's framework and put our name on it, we built our own — MEARL, the Five-Link Value Chain, our own way of teaching people to show their work, not just do it.

Here is what I believe that much of this sector won't say out loud: passing an exam and being trusted with the next grant are not the same achievement. A credential tells someone you sat a test. It does not tell them your MEARL system will still hold when a donor pulls the thread five years from now. Most training providers stop at the first. We built this institute around the second.

If you are the one who will be standing in that boardroom — holding the file, answering for the spend, defending the renewal — this is for you. Not because you lack talent. Because somewhere along the way, nobody handed you the framework that turns good work into work nobody can question. That is what we hand you here. Not a certificate to frame. A way of working you will still be using when it matters most.

Who we are

Founded 2016. Incorporated in Kenya, 2023.

The Institute of Grant & Project Management Studies (IGPMS) was founded in June 2016 and formally incorporated in Kenya in July 2023. We offer professional training and consultancy across education, development, governance, information technology, the built industry, hospitality, and health — working with the Public and Private Sectors, Not‑for‑Profit organisations, and Academia.

IGPMS does not teach or offer professional consultancy from a single point of view. Facilitators are drawn from a vetted pool of certified practitioners active across programmes, projects, and the development sector.

Frequently Asked

Before you enrol or engage us, the questions we hear first.

Q1 Can our organisation license seats institutionally instead of registering individuals?

Yes. Any programme can be licensed for a department or whole organisation, which is usually the more cost-effective route for teams of five or more, and includes procurement-ready documentation for public and donor-funded agencies.

Q2 How is IGPMS different from a generic PMP or M&E training provider?

Every curriculum is built through our Team of Experts model — four professional lenses reviewing the same content — and grounded in real anchor projects, not theoretical case studies. Our own frameworks, including MEARL and C.R.A.F.T., go with the training, not just the exam prep.

Q3 What's the difference between the training programmes and the consultancy services?

Training builds the certified skills your people carry with them. Consultancy builds or repairs the systems your organisation runs on — MEARL frameworks, research processes, business systems. Most institutional clients start with one and add the other once the gap is clear.

Q4 How long does a certification programme or consultancy engagement take?

Certification programmes run 8–12 weeks depending on the track. Consultancy engagements are scoped to the specific deliverable — a MEARL framework build, a research study, or a systems development project — with timelines confirmed after an initial scoping call.

Q5 Can IGPMS work within government or donor procurement requirements?

Yes. We provide the documentation procurement typically requires — company profile, capability statement, and formal proposals — and can structure engagements as training contracts, consultancy retainers, or a combination of both.

Cohorts & Scoping Slots Are Limited

Your next exam sitting, audit, or grant cycle won't wait for you to catch up.

Cohort seats and consultancy scoping slots are limited every intake — the professionals and institutions that register early are the ones walking into their next certification, audit, or donor review already ahead.

No procurement paperwork ready? We'll send you what you need — capability statement, proposal template, and pricing — same day.
